do it in jeans first
got to say, i used to hate jeans until i started buying clothes for myself. they are weirdly comfortable? not just the $300 japanese denim (those are crazy nice) but even regular wrangles feel good to walk around while not having to worry about getting them dirty. wasn't that the point of wearing jeans? not the most durable but decently durable.
that isn't exactly the point of the article but the article captures the idea of treating things as a marathon of mini-sprints. no need to rush things. just keep things simple. and eventually, over time, build up towards more specialization but again, no rush.
it's like how they say "fake it till you make it". i agree but again, at a pace where you don't lose opportunities for more confidence and optionality.
again, i'm going off-topic but jeans are the best.
