doom emacs
isn't it so interesting how there are so many text editors with so many configurations to justify them? not saying this in a condescending way but more as a inspired way. it really shows how no matter how perfect something is, there are always specifics that have people choosing or creating things to suite their own preferences.
i don't know much about emac but heard quite a bit about doom emac throughout the web. it intrigued me because the main ones i'm aware of are:
- vs code (the standard tbh)
- vim/neovim (terminal-friendly and quite popular)
- cursor (ai and the new shit right now)
- zed (ai hype)
- jetbrains (legendary suite of IDEs)
- atom (was huge with my college friends in cs; discontinued thought)
but emac, sublime, or even helix -- are a few that i see the community to advocate for and to be honest, i'm very curious on what makes them click for those people.
going to check it out and see what's up
